The Carter Brothers have made it their mission to share their collective wealth of knowledge of how to create and sustain successful companies through the Young Millionaires Series as well as through their best-selling book, Double Your Success: Principles to Build a Multimillion-Dollar Business, published by ForbesBooks.

 

​The businessmen founded Sterling Staffing Solutions in 2011, which has grown into an award-winning, multimillion-dollar company that specializes in providing medical staffing services to home health agencies, hospices, hospitals, and rehab facilities. Collectively, they have founded and currently operate several companies including Sterling Physical Therapy & Wellness, White Orchid Hospice, Carter Brothers Consulting and MyMedCred.com.

 

​Dr. Sterling Carter is a nationally recognized physical therapist with over 20 years of experience in his field. He has also made guest appearances on the popular My 600-lb. Life.  Stephen Levi Carter, MBA has over two decades of experience in managerial and executive-level positions for a variety of industries, including medical insurance and the oil and gas industry. Both are military veterans and decorated businessmen

DR. STERLING L. CARTER 

Dr. Carter is a decorated Army Veteran who served as a proud protector of his country for more than 25 years. Retiring at the rank of Major, he worked as a physical therapist, and also served in Operation Desert Storm (90-91) and Operation Enduring Freedom/Iraqi Freedom (06-07). Major Carter served in various leadership roles, to include Executive Officer of an Army Hospital unit in which he was responsible for the management and well-being of 350 soldiers. Major Carter has received multiple awards to include: Two Army Commendation Medals, Two Army Achievement Metals, Saudi Arabia Service Medal recipient, Combat Medic badge recipient, and a graduate of Commanders and General’s staff college.

Dr. Carter has practiced as a professional physical therapist for more than 20 years. A graduate of Langston University, he obtained Bachelor’s Degrees in Biology (1993,) as well as Physical Therapy (1997). He received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy, with a focus in Orthopedics from Texas Woman’s University (2007) and a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Simmons College (2013). He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a graduate of the esteemed Fort Bend Leadership Forum.

Dr. Carter has always been a driven leader, and authority in his field. In an effort to change healthcare by providing unparalleled value for his patients, he has founded several businesses. He is the President & CEO of Sterling Physical Therapy & Wellness (2008), SPTW Transportation Services, LLC (2009) and Sterling Physical Therapy & Wellness of OakBend Medical Center (2016).

Dr. Carter has received numerous individual awards to include; Top 40 under 40 by Fort Bend Business Journal, as well as A Top Houston Health Care Professional (2012 & 2013). He was inducted into the Willowridge High School hall of fame (2016), and recently received the Langston University Alumnus of the Year award (2018). A well-known speaker in the Houston community, he has spoken and lectured at numerous colleges and Universities, including Texas Woman’s University, the 2014 Commencement Ceremony for Everest Institute and multiple national podcasts. His story has been recorded in several different publications, to include: The Rehab Insider, D-Mars Health and Wellness Journal, Fort Bend Business Journal, Sugar Land Magazine, Fort Bend Focus Magazine, and many others.

Considered an expert in the Physical Therapy profession, Dr. Carter has written over 50 different blogs, and shares a wealth of educational material on the Sterling Physical Therapy YouTube channel, where he reaches thousands of viewers daily. Dr. Carter also produces educational videos, teaches continuing education courses, and serves as a contributing author for numerous journals and publications.

Today, Dr. Carter frequently treats patients, and is frequently sought out by satellite television network, TLC. It is here that Dr. Carter can also be seen worldwide, as he continues to share his life-saving message of health on TLC’s hit TV show “My 600-lb Life.” While TLC follows medical journeys of morbidly obese people — each weighing more than 600 pounds, Dr. Carter uses his knowledge and expertise, while helping patients drastically change their appearances and reclaim their independence.

STEPHEN LEVI CARTER, MBA

Stephen Levi Carter is a renowned authority on entrepreneurship. Stephen has a record of accomplishment relative to operational success, visionary leadership, and business development. Combining his experience managing the finances of Fortune 500 corporations with his innate desire to build a product or service that answers a problem, he has literally transformed the business landscape everywhere that he goes. Stephen received his Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Accounting from Langston University, Langston, OK, in 1993. He received his Master of Business Administration in Change Management and Finance from the University of Houston, Houston, TX, in 1999. Mr. Carter has more than 25 years of finance and management experience and has served in managerial and executive level positions for consulting, medical insurance, oil and gas, and technology firms. Additionally, Stephen has a strong commitment to serving his community and his country. He has served as a Combat Medic in the US Army Reserves for 8 years and fought in the Iraqi War: Operation Desert Shield/Storm and is now a decorated war veteran.

Stephen is the CEO of Sterling Staffing Solutions of which he founded along with his twin brother, Dr. Sterling L. Carter in 2011. Sterling Staffing Solutions is a high growth staffing firm on target to gross more than $9 million in sales for 2018. Their company has been recognized nationally for its record of financial success and impact on the community. Awards won include: Inc. 5000 list in 2016 for fasting growing businesses in the US, the Inc. 5000 list in 2017, Inc. 5000 list in 2018, Better Business Bureau Business2Business healthcare company of the year in 2017 & 2018, 2017 & 2018 Stevie Awards winner with the American Business Association for Minority Business of the Year and Veteran Business of the Year, Greater Houston Black Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award Winner 2017, and others.

Stephen also serves as CEO of White Orchid Hospice, LLC, a palliative and hospice care agency serving patients in the greater Houston, Texas area. His vision for hospice care came from his childhood memories of watching his father go through a painful demise with only the care of his loving sister. He also witnessed the pain and sorrow caused by the death of soldiers while fighting in Iraq. Finally, he has found a way to make a difference and honor the memory of those that he has witnessed suffer so deeply in his past. Stephen is active in his community mentoring young boys age 7-17 through 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston Inc, Fort Bend Boys and Girls Club and Big Brothers Big Sisters. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Society of Human Resources Management, Project Management Institute Houston, American Management Association and Toastmasters International. He also serves on the boards of the 100 Black Men of Metropolitan Houston, the Better Business Bureau’s Nominating Committee and Delta Academic Artistic and Philanthropic Foundation (DAAP) 2018-2019. Stephen shares his success with his beautiful wife of 17 years Daphane, who is an executive for a national charter school system, and his daughters Madison and Morgan.
